20 years after

Far far away, I can see a dot, a very small dot. I don’t know if i'm hallucinating, but it looks like something coming towards me. I don’t expect much, so I turned and look at the other side of this endless road. A minute passes and then another. Suddenly, I hear a noise. The hum of an engine. I cast a glance over my shoulder and see to my great relief that I was not dreaming. It’s a car. It stoppes and then a man emerges. He is tall and looks friendly.

-Hey!

-Hey, I answer

-Do you have problem?

-I ran out of gas...

-My name is Manu.Where are you going? He says with a smile

-Where you go

As soon as I enter the car, I am greeted by four other boys all piled one on the other.

-Cass, I present you my friends, NG, Majo, Laurent & Nico. Guys make room, we have a girl on board!

-So where are you going?

-We are going to our friend Lucas’s wedding. He lived in the United States in recent years because of his job. He's engaged to a beautiful woman and they have three children. They lived in the suburbs, you'll see it's very nice. He has a dog too!

-Have you purchased any wedding gift?

-In fact, this car is like the gift. This is a Westfalia, big enough for us all. We are making a road trip in the USA. It's his dream trip. We were supposed to made it before but life changes and now seemed to be the best time. We also brought some things that are important for him.Lucas really loves his iPod. He says we can have everything above. He had forgotten at home during his last tour. Her mother gave me his big dolphin plush called Flash that he had received from his uncle when he was young. Unfortunately, he can’t come to the wedding because he lives in Paris.

-Have you forget the trophies? asks Majo

- Trophies? He seems to have a good start in life!

- Yes, Lucas is very intelligent. He received lots of prizes in high school! Besides, he always says he would have liked to have dinner with Leonardo Da Vinci and Einstein to discuss with them and learn from their knowledge.

Time goes by and I don’t even see it. I learned many things about that guy that I don’t even know but who seems to a be a good friend and has everything in life. Laurent told me Lucas wanted to be architect to build restaurants and big houses when he was a little kid. He loved to play legos and any other games that require construction. Today, he works for the CIA . His friends often laugh of him saying he must do jumps and stunts in hiding and working with crazy gadgets. After several hours of driving, we finally arrived.

-It is here that Lucas lives, says NG. You want to come? We'll introduce you.

A man runs out of the house when we arrived. He's tall, he has blue eyes, and his a face reminds me something. As far as he’s approaching , our eyes meet and question ..He opens his mouth and says: Cass?

Throughout the trip when I heard about him, I could not recognize him, but now that he was in front of me, I can see that I knew him..
